Fibaro news.

http://zwaveforum.se/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4876

Fibaro seems to be going all in with voice control for your home automation project. The discussion board zwaverforum has something that looks like press material from Fibaro promising several new devices. What strikes me is that it seems like most of them support voice control. And could connect to your wired burglar alarm also. Another nice device is the Player, that I hope will work in same way as Sonos different multi room audio system Play, but connected directly to your home automation z-wave network, though Sonos is supported with Vera with the app in the app-store.

Some of the new devices seems to be able to work stand-alone without any of the Fibaro controllers.

RFID reader with Z-wave interface

I noticed this RFID reader with Z-wave interface
http://www.2ihome.eu/
http://www.2myhome.info/index.php/products/security/tag-reader

No information available of the actual price. And unfortunately it does not handle NFC. But still I think it would make a good and easy alarm control panel.

Android tablet Haipad M9 Firmware update

My Haipad Android tablet that I bought to be able to easy control my home, the few times something is needed to be done manually has been working good. But I’m usually never satisfied with that. So I have, from day one, actually been searching for a firmware upgrade without success. Finally there was one published by the manufacturer.
http://www.haipad.co.uk/haipad-m9/
The upgrade went well but I did not expect it to be completely “empty”. Only Android in and some few apps was available.
I did not see any applications in the marketplace until I logged on the mail client and access my google mail. Then all the apps in the Google Android Marketplace was visible again.
On the plus side the WLAN connects way much better from far longer distance than before and is much faster.

Vera Controller for Windows Phone

1 of 7
Vera Controller is finally live in the market place. I have been beta testing it since April. You can grab your own example from http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/e45be1c0-ebbd-4716-b296-8d70e99aee1f
It enables all you that uses a Windows Phone to control your Z-wave Vera and it's devices from anywhere. It features a very nice user interface, possibilities to control several Veras etc.
Don't hesitate to post any comments on:

Probably the cheapest available Z-wave device!

I belive the "Monster Universal Home Theater & Lighting Remote Control Z-Wave® Harmony® AVL300" (huh!) is the cheapest available Z-wave device. Currently selling as low as £21 around E-bay.

Might be worth looking at when you just like to press one button to start your car heater... And that reminds me that I haven't written about this yet...

Updated! This seems to be for the new world market only. Still seems like the search for the cheapest old world a.k.a Europe z-wave device continous...
